Days 4–5
Pause on the Whale Coast
Continue to Cliff Lodge for ocean views and coastal walks. Whale watching is seasonal; wine estates and coastal scenery offer other reasons to linger.
Days 6–7
Lagoon days in Knysna
Travel along the coast to Leisure Isle Lodge. Spend time around the lagoon and choose a forest or coastal excursion, keeping road distances realistic rather than packing every sight into one day.
Day 8
Arrive in the Eastern Cape bush
Continue east to Shamwari and settle into Bayethe Tented Lodge. Your guide introduces the reserve on a game drive if timing permits.
Days 9–10
Give the safari room to unfold
Explore on morning and afternoon drives, with time at the lodge between. Conservation visits, walks and spa treatments depend on availability and your personal arrangements.
Day 11
Depart via Gqeberha
Finish with breakfast and a transfer to Gqeberha for your onward flight. The final safari activity depends on departure time.

When to go
Southern right whales are seasonal visitors to the Whale Coast, generally in the cooler part of the year. Summer offers a different coastal experience. We’ll plan around the season rather than promise sightings.
